Sandhu Eye Hospital is a symbol of quality eye care in Punjab for more than past 3 decades. This hospital is situated in the city of Nawanshahr, a small business town in Doaba region of Punjab. The hospital is being run by a family which is the third generation of ophthalmologists. Originally from Azad Chowk Banga, the first generation of doctors in the family were Dr. Gurbax S Sandhu and Dr. Bhagat S. Sandhu, who started their medical practise at Banga in the year 1935. Four sons of Dr. Bhagat Singh went on ahead to become specialist doctors and served both in the private and government sector. The 4th son Dr. Devinder Paul S. Sandhu was an accomplished Eye Surgeon and worked at various places in Doaba during his tenure with Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS). From where he retired as Director Health Services (DHS) Punjab.

Dr. Deepinder Singh Sandhu completed his MBBS from Govt. Medical College in the year 1997, and obtained his Post Graduate degree in ophthalmology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences, Bangalore in the year 2002. During his post-graduation he did an observer ship in the world renowned Sankara Nethralaya ,Chennai and Minto Hospital Bangalore, later in 2003 he did Phaco training from Aggarwal Eye Hospital ,Chennai In the year 2002 Sandhu Eye Hospital shifted its premises from Banga to Nawanshahr, and now operate from a world class facility at Fateh Complex, Chandigarh Road, Nawanshahr neighbouring Khalsa Senior Secondary School. Four eye surgeons are working in various specialties at Sandhu Eye Hospital and they are masters in their own field. We have qualified Optometrist who work in this hospital as well as does the teaching job also.
